Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Specialist

Location: Providence, RI (Hybrid)
Employment Type: 4-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $45/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Specialist to support procurement and sourcing initiatives within the education industry. This role will focus on managing sourcing events, conducting market analysis, supporting supplier transitions, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate the bid process for assigned sourcing events from initiation through award.
• Conduct market research and supplier spend analysis to support sourcing strategies.
• Analyze proposals and bids and provide recommendations for supplier selection.
• Support supplier onboarding, transitions, and contract implementation processes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and university procurement policies.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions.
• Attend project meetings and departmental initiatives as needed.
• Support additional procurement and sourcing-related projects and tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contracts.
• Strong project management, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and deadlines independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a university or higher education environment.
• Familiarity with procurement systems, contract management systems, and database software.
• Knowledge of supplier management and procurement compliance processes.
