Job Title: HR Coordinator
Location: Providence, Rhode Island (onsite)
Employment Type: Temporary - 3 Months
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm
Pay: $25.00 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our client's team in the higher education sector. In this role, you will contribute to providing outstanding customer service, assisting with onboarding processes, and ensuring HR data compliance and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the point of contact for intermediate level worker and student inquiries through in person, phone, or email at the HR Service Center.
- Assist new hires, including faculty, staff, and student workers, in onboarding business processes.
- Provide information about and assistance with HR policies and procedures, benefits, payroll, and Workday self-service.
- Evaluate and resolve simple to complex issues, aiming to resolve them at the first contact.
- Escalate high-level inquiries and issues by engaging with appropriate functional area specialists.
- Maintain working knowledge of payroll processing and schedules, including processes related to non-US citizens.
- Ensure the onboarding process in Workday is completed and correct for all new hires.
- Review and approve Workday business processes related to onboarding and HR core data.
- Ensure worker and student worker records are complete and accurate, and employment processes are effectively launched and tracked.
- Adhere to the federal Form I-9 regulations and processes.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience with Workday, Excel, and Google Suite.
- Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience or equivalency.
- Great customer service skills and takes initiative.
- High attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bilingual, with Spanish speaking as a plus.
- Workday experience.
- Prior experience in higher education and/or union environment.
