Lead the company’s finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and operational analytics. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the monthly close process, reviewing and preparing complex accounting schedules, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.
The role manages a lean finance team consisting of financial analysts and payroll staff while directly contributing to financial analysis, reporting, and business intelligence development within the organization’s Domo platform. This position plays a pivotal role in the organization, working cross-functionally with other departments in a consultative manner to drive operational and financial improvements, analytics and automation.
ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS
- Operate as a working finance leader within a lean team environment, directly performing financial analysis, reporting, and accounting work when complexity or workload requires.
- Lead the monthly close process, reviewing reconciliations and financial statements prepared by financial analysts while preparing complex accounting schedules and analyses as needed.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analysis to executive leadership.
- Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and supporting analysis used to guide operational and strategic decision-making.
- Own the organization’s financial and operational analytics infrastructure within the Domo platform, including dashboard development, dataset governance, and advanced analytical reporting.
- Train and guide financial analysts in business intelligence development, financial modeling, and reporting best practices while contributing hands-on development of complex analytical solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with operational leaders to analyze financial performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement data-driven operational initiatives.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and financial processes that ensure the integrity of financial reporting and operational data.
- Ensure compliance with statutory payroll reporting, corporate tax requirements, and other regulatory filings.
- Manage and review payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist senior leadership with financial modeling, strategic planning, and financial analysis related to business initiatives.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate financial and operational reporting through improved systems, analytics, and workflow processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience with business intelligence or financial analytics platforms
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including hands-on responsibility for financial reporting and accounting operations.
- Experience managing the monthly close process within a lean finance team environment.
