Controller / Director of Accounting & Finance – Private Equity Firm

Who We’re Looking For

A rapidly growing private equity firm in Boca Raton is seeking a Controller / Director of Accounting & Finance to lead all accounting and financial operations. This high-impact role is ideal for an experienced financial services or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Controller looking to step into a more strategic, hands-on investment environment with significant CFO-level responsibilities. You’ll play a central role in financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly close, consolidations, investor reporting, and capital account activity.
• Deliver timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting that aligns with regulatory and investor expectations.
• Build and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable processes that support the firm’s accelerated growth.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, partnering with leadership to model fund performance, operating budgets, and long-term projections.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, treasury functions, capital calls, and distributions.
• Provide analytical insights, dashboards, and strategic financial guidance that influence investment decisions and firm-wide performance.
• Oversee external audits, tax filings, and compliance in collaboration with auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors.
• Implement financial systems enhancements, automation, and process improvements to elevate accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Partner with deal teams on financial due diligence, transaction support, and integration planning as needed.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8–15 years of progressive accounting experience within financial services or TPA environments.
• Deep knowledge of compliance, fund accounting, investor reporting, and private equity structures.
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and complex financial operations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and sophisticated reporting requirements.
• High-level analytical ability with a strategic mindset and talent for turning financial data into actionable insight.
