Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, vital signs, and medication administration, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs.
- Administer treatments such as IV infusions, catheterizations, tube feedings, and wound care while adhering to aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols.
- Document medical records accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like PCC, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Monitor patients’ physiological status, perform physical examinations, and evaluate responses to treatments for effective clinical decision-making.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection/processing, and radiology procedures when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication instructions, and discharge planning to promote optimal recovery and well-being.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Competency in critical care areas such as ICU or trauma center environments; experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Skilled in emergency medicine procedures including airway management, first aid, CPR (Basic Life Support), and ventilator management.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like PCC; proficiency in medical documentation and medical records management.
- Ability to perform complex nursing tasks such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, injection administration, catheter care, and sterile technique.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, hospice care principles, pain management strategies, and infection control practices.
Florida Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background screening.
