Payroll Manager

We are partnering with a large, public company in Boston, MA who is looking to add a Payroll Manager to their team. This role will oversee the payroll function for a large organization and lead a team while ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have experience within a large, public company environment and currently have payroll management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day payroll function for a large, public company
• Manage and review payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee multi-state and high-volume payroll activities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Review payroll reconciliations, reports, and payroll-related general ledger activity
• Manage payroll tax filings, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll requirements
• Supervise, mentor, and develop payroll team members
• Partner with HR, Finance, and other departments on payroll-related matters
• Manage year-end payroll activities, including W-2 reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems, and controls
• Support audits and other payroll-related projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field preferred
• 7 years of progressive payroll experience
• Large company and public company experience required
• Current payroll management experience required
• Strong high-volume and multi-state payroll experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxes, and regulations
• Experience managing and developing payroll staff
• Strong Excel and payroll systems experience
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in office; discounted parking available for employees who drive

Compensation: $130K-$170K depending on years of experience plus strong package
