A well-established, mission-driven educational institution is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions as the standalone HR professional on campus. This newly created role will partner closely with the Business Office and senior leadership to support faculty, staff, and operations across the organization.
About the Role
The HR Manager will oversee the full scope of Human Resources, including onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, policy updates, compliance, leave management, and acting as a backup to payroll. This position reports directly to the President and plays a key role in ensuring a positive employee experience and a compliant, well-structured HR function.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations
- Serve as the primary HR contact for all employees and department leaders
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes across all departments
- Manage background checks (CORI, SORI, fingerprinting) and review results with leadership
- Maintain, update, and roll out HR policies and the employee handbook
- Oversee performance evaluation processes, employee relations, and corrective actions
- Prepare offer letters, compensation benchmarking, and HR reporting
Benefits Administration
- Oversee benefit programs, including eligibility, enrollment, communication, and vendor relations
- Manage annual Open Enrollment and negotiations with benefit providers
- Handle required filings (ACA, HIRD, PCORI) and workers’ comp audits
Leave Administration
- Coordinate FMLA, LOA, maternity/paternity leave, workers’ compensation, and related claims
- Administer 403(b) retirement plan contributions and updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (HR or Accounting preferred)
- 6 years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations
- ADP Workforce Now and education-sector experience preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to work onsite full-time and thrive in a fast-paced, community-oriented environment
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
