UX Researcher

A leading global e-commerce and technology company is seeking an experienced UX Researcher to join its product and design organization. This role plays a key part in shaping user experiences by leading research efforts that inform the design of tools and services supporting third-party sellers on a large-scale online marketplace. The ideal candidate is a skilled usability expert with a strong track record of driving research programs, advocating for users, and delivering clear, actionable insights to cross-functional teams.

Location: Bellevue or Minneapolis 

Duration: 7 months

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay: $43-48/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a range of qualitative and quantitative user research studies including usability testing, contextual inquiries, heuristic evaluations, surveys, field studies, and card sorting.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape product direction through user-centered insights.
• Translate business goals and user needs into clear research plans, tasks, and success criteria that directly influence design and development decisions.
• Deliver detailed findings and recommendations through presentations and written reports, driving alignment across teams and ensuring that user insights are implemented effectively.
• Create and maintain a research toolkit and best practices documentation to enable scalable and repeatable research processes.
• Analyze wireframes and interactive prototypes in early development phases, providing feedback on usability and interaction patterns.
• Participate in user session observation, data analysis, and synthesis of key themes and trends that uncover opportunities for innovation and optimization.
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Technical Communication, or related field.
• 6 years of experience conducting UX research and usability studies in a professional setting.
• Proficient in multiple user research methods and able to adapt methodologies based on project goals and constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to promote user-centered design principles and influence product development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record of self-direction, project ownership, and delivering results in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7 years of UX research experience.
• Experience working within logistics, transportation, or e-commerce platforms.
• Background in teaching or mentoring others in UX research methodologies.
• Strong research portfolio showcasing past studies, methodology, and impact on business or product decisions.

Tools & Technical Experience:

• Familiarity with research and usability tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, Optimal Workshop, dscout, Qualtrics, etc.
• Working knowledge of design collaboration platforms such as Figma, Confluence, and Jira is a plus.
