Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Westbrook, Maine. In this role, you will handle essential financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all bookkeeping operations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Utilize QuickBooks for daily bookkeeping tasks and reporting needs.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries to support business decision-making.
• Monitor cash flow and assist in budget tracking activities.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Address any issues related to billing, payments, or account discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Provide support during audits or financial reviews as needed.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
• Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and budget tracking principles.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
• Understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
