Accounting Manager/Supervisor

We are looking for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead and oversee core accounting operations for a non-profit in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This role involves managing a team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting audit processes to maintain compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise a team of six accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure operational efficiency.

• Oversee payroll processes and accounts payable functions to maintain accuracy and timeliness.

• Assist in preparing for and conducting financial statement audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Perform month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.

• Review and reconcile accounts to maintain the integrity of financial records.

• Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring adherence to accounting principles.

• Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support financial operations and resolve discrepancies.

• Proven experience managing accounting operations and supervising teams.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and handling general ledger activities.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance standards.
• Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with payroll and accounts payable workflows.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
