What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Digital Communications position at Redline Rising?
Job Description:
Redline Rising is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building the infrastructure for how society measures cognitive performance. We operate at the intersection of neuroscience, motorsport, and education, running programs that bring cognitive science into schools, competition environments, and professional development.
We are looking for a Director of Digital Communications to own the full lifecycle of our digital presence across Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Substack, WeChat, and Facebook. This is not a "post and ghost" role. You will be the operational layer between high-density original content and the platforms where it reaches researchers, educators, enterprise partners, and the public.
This is a volunteer leadership position with real portfolio-building exposure across nonprofit communications, academic publishing, and motorsport.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and publish pre-approved content across all platforms on a consistent editorial calendar.
Monitor inbound engagement, flag high-priority interactions, and manage first-response communications on behalf of the organization.
Coordinate cross-platform promotion for book launches, academic paper publications, event announcements, and partnership milestones.
Track and report engagement metrics weekly, identifying which content types and platforms are generating the highest quality reach.
Maintain brand voice consistency across all channels in alignment with organizational leadership.
Support digital promotion for live events including REDLINE INDEX cognitive performance sessions and education partnerships.
Qualifications:
Strong written communication skills with attention to tone, precision, and audience calibration.
Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or equivalent.
Ability to work independently against deadlines without supervision.
Interest in cognitive science, motorsport, education, or nonprofit operations.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple platforms simultaneously.
Prior social media management experience preferred but not required. Commitment and reliability matter more than credentials.
