Role Overview
The Chef Manager will lead kitchen operations within a school environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals, effective team management, and full compliance with food safety and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality meals at scale using seasonal ingredients
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and compliance
- Manage stock, ordering, and kitchen costs effectively
- Liaise with on-site stakeholders and ensure service excellence
- Ensure all due diligence and regulatory requirements are met
Working Schedule
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 6:30/7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (45 hours per week)
- Working Weeks: 42 weeks per year (term time inset days additional weeks)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar role
- Experience cooking fresh food in high-volume environments
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and compliance standards
- Ability to manage kitchen operations independently
