Duties
- Perform comprehensive echocardiography, including transthoracic and transesophageal procedures, to assess cardiac function and structure
- Conduct vascular ultrasound imaging for vascular assessments and diagnostics
- Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional radiology techniques within the cath lab setting
- Analyze cardiac rhythms and vital signs during procedures to ensure patient stability and safety
- Support cardiac stress tests and other diagnostic evaluations to evaluate heart performance under various conditions
- Operate medical equipment such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image storage and retrieval
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiography, catheterization, and interventional cardiology procedures
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to cardiovascular health
- Proficiency in vascular ultrasound imaging, cardiac rhythm analysis, and use of diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with PACS systems for image management and reporting
- Experience working in cath labs, emergency medicine settings, or Level I/II trauma centers preferred
- Ability to operate medical equipment accurately while adhering to aseptic protocols
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cardiologists, radiologists, and healthcare teams
- Valid certification as a Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or ARDMS) is required; additional certifications in vascular ultrasound or interventional radiology are a plus
