What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Press Plate maker and back up techican position at PLPS (Luminer)?
Job Summary
A Prepress Technician will process clients’ artwork and interpret their needs with occasional design solutions. They will work on a variety of labels, working closely as a team with a customer service representative to achieve the customer’s vision.
Essential Functions:
Communicate clearly and openly with customer service, prepress, and production teams as needed to ensure a smooth workflow.
Analyze/Troubleshoot/Correct files provided by clients for printing (ensuring images & text are properly formatted and free of errors) and set up to be printed on flexo presses.
Create die lines and proofs for client review and make revisions as needed in response to their feedback.
Convert approved image files for digital plate making.
Operate laser plate-making equipment and perform light maintenance of this equipment. (replacement of consumable supplies as needed)
Perform quality checks of flexo plates produced, ensuring they meet quality standards before sending them out to production
Qualifications/Skills Required:
High school diploma, equivalent, vocational, associate, or bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
Willingness to perform repetitive tasks.
Up-to-date and proficient with Macintosh equipment and industry leading software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.)
Professionalism regarding time, costs, deadlines, and teamwork.
Ability to follow instructions, manage deadlines, and occasionally work overtime.
