Duties
- Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately processing retail sales transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized
- Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area, adhering to store policies on cash drawer handling and cash register operations
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently to scan items, apply discounts, and process returns or exchanges
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills by engaging customers professionally via phone etiquette or in person
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor; ability to handle phone inquiries courteously
- Basic math skills for calculating totals, making change, and managing cash drawers accurately
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising principles to assist customers effectively
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
