Hardware Technical Program Manager

Piper Companies is seeking a Hardware Technical Program Manager to join a leading organization within the high-speed interconnect and advanced hardware manufacturing industry in a hybrid position in Morrisville, NC. This Hardware Technical Program Manager role is ideal for a technically fluent, customer-facing program leader who can operate close to the product, understand real-world applications, and bridge customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Hardware Technical Program Manager:

• Serve as the technical and programmatic bridge between customers, applications engineering, hardware design, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Translate customer application requirements into clear technical requirements, constraints, and program deliverables
• Manage complex, cross-functional hardware programs involving cable, connector, and backplane systems from concept through production
• Lead customer-facing technical discussions, executive briefings, and on-site visits (up to 20% travel)
• Identify technical, schedule, and integration risks early by understanding how products perform in real-world customer environments
• Support design validation, qualification testing, and customer issue resolution or escalations
• Guide engineering prioritization based on application-level impact, system performance, and customer use cases
  
  

Qualifications of the Hardware Technical Program Manager:

• 7 years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, applications engineering, or hardware engineering
• Strong application-level understanding of how hardware products are deployed in customer systems
• Experience working with high-speed interconnects, connectors, cables, backplanes, or electro-mechanical products
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Working knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing considerations
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and customer stakeholders
• Comfortable reviewing technical documentation and participating in engineering-level discussions
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles, including on-site support or executive-level technical presentations
  
  

Compensation for the Hardware Technical Program Manager includes:

• Salary range: $160,000 – $200,000 depending on experience
