Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Infrastructure to join a life insurance company, through hybrid work in Frederick, MD . This position will lead strategic CHANGE initiatives, driving the evolution of infrastructure to align with both technology and business growth objectives. You will define and own the future-state architecture while championing modern practices, including agile methodologies, to accelerate transformation and deliver enterprise-wide value.

Responsibilities of the Director of Infrastructure:
- Work with cybersecurity to strengthen security posture and foster a security-aware culture.
- Define SLAs/OKRs, close capability gaps, and ensure compliance through ongoing monitoring.
- Manage vendor relationships to meet contractual and performance commitments.
- Oversee hardware/software assets and network inventory, address infrastructure risks, and report mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to allocate resources, manage budgets, and prioritize technical debt.
- Research emerging technologies, recommend solutions, forecast capacity, and support scalable growth planning.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Technical certifications (Ex: MSCE, MCP, MOS, CCNA, CCDA, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, COBIT etc.)
- Senior position: 5 years of leadership experience, 15 years of infrastructure experience
- 3 years’ experience of public cloud like Azure, AWS.
- Proven ability to manage and engage stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets of $5M or more, with strong financial controls and reporting practices.
- Salary Range: $157,100 - $227,800 annually
