Position Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Environmental and Natural Resources practice in Denver. This role focuses on environmental aspects of complex transactions, including advising on environmental provisions in M&A agreements and environmental insurance policies. The position offers the opportunity to work directly with deal makers on high-profile, high-value transactions across diverse sectors such as industrials, aerospace and defense, life sciences, and sports and entertainment. This is a growth-driven need within a lean team, providing immediate exposure and advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Advise on environmental provisions of M&A agreements and environmental insurance policies
- Prepare diligence reports and draft/negotiating environmental provisions in transactional documents
- Collaborate closely with deal teams to manage transactions from start to finish
- Provide strategic guidance on environmental risks in complex deals
Required Qualifications
- Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred
- 6–9 years of transactional experience, ideally with environmental components
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Excellent academic credentials (3.5 GPA or above)
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced deal environments
- Solid tenure; frequent job changes are a non-starter
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience drafting and negotiating environmental provisions in M&A agreements
- Background in environmental organizations or in-house roles with transactional exposure
- Familiarity with environmental insurance policies
