Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3–10 years of litigation experience to join their team in Chicago. The role focuses on first-party property insurance disputes and may involve both insurance defense and insurance coverage work. This position offers opportunities for travel and collaboration on complex insurance matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft coverage opinions and litigate insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
- Manage cases through all phases, including motions, discovery, depositions, and court proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written work.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and provide exceptional service.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to strategic case planning.
Required Qualifications
- Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred.
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active Illinois Bar admission.
- 3–10 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance-related matters.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent writing skills.
- Proficient in legal research and oral presentation.
- Ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.
- Familiarity with first-party property insurance disputes.
- Ability to travel as needed for client or case-related matters.
Salary : $130,000 - $185,000
