Position Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support transactional attorneys in a growing Real Estate team. This role will support 3–4 attorneys and involves working under attorney supervision on complex real estate transactions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional client service. This position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office, with flexibility based on team needs and workload.
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents for real estate transactions, including closing documents, binders, title insurance policies, endorsements, deeds, bills of sale, and assignments.
- Initiate and manage due diligence investigations, including municipal liens, permits, zoning, UCC, bankruptcy, tax searches, environmental reviews, surveys, leases, and entity qualifications.
- Draft real estate closing statements, calculate prorations, prepare trust receipts, payment documentation, and wire transmittal letters; confirm wire instructions and disburse closing funds.
- Coordinate execution and delivery of closing documents and assist throughout the closing process.
- Conduct post-closing tasks, including document recordation, updating title policies, and preparing closing binders.
- Communicate proactively to manage workload and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous law firm experience required; Am Law 200, leading regional, or major boutique firm experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Minimum of five years’ experience drafting purchase and sale agreements, reviewing title and surveys, and managing closings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), and document management systems such as NetDocs.
- Advanced Word skills, including styles, track changes, and document comparison tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a transactional practice.
- Strong project management skills and ability to anticipate needs in complex transactions.
