O’Brien Auto Team is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Service Advisor to serve as the vital link between our customers and our service technicians. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values transparency, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional service experience from check-in to vehicle delivery.
💼 What You’ll Do
As a Service Advisor, you will guide customers through the service process by understanding their needs, communicating clearly, and ensuring repairs are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Greet customers promptly and professionally
- Schedule, confirm, and prepare for service appointments
- Perform vehicle walk-arounds and identify customer concerns
- Create detailed repair orders with clear cost and time estimates
- Communicate customer concerns accurately to technicians
- Collaborate with technicians and parts teams to ensure timely repairs
- Provide regular updates to customers using their preferred communication method
- Deliver completed vehicles and explain repairs and maintenance performed
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Use a consultative approach to recommend required and preventative maintenance
- Meet or exceed performance goals, including hours per RO
- Maintain strong knowledge of maintenance schedules, warranties, and service products
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, appearance, and customer care
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
✅ What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Service Advisor (required)
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training a plus
- Prior customer service experience required; automotive service experience strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record
🧍♂️ Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable laws
- Regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use repetitive hand motions (typing)
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
