Associate’s or Bachelor’s Required
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Information & Referral Specialist to support a high-volume helpline serving elderly individuals, caregivers, and community members. This role plays a critical part in ensuring access to essential services by assessing needs and connecting clients to appropriate community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to a high volume of inbound calls in a call center environment, providing timely and accurate information
- Conduct structured needs assessments to identify client eligibility for services such as housing assistance, food programs, transportation, healthcare, and caregiver support
- Utilize internal resource databases and external directories to identify appropriate referrals
- Educate clients on available programs, eligibility criteria, and application processes
- Accurately document all client interactions, referrals, and outcomes in case management systems (e.g., WellSky, Salesforce, or similar)
- Escalate complex or urgent cases to supervisors or specialized departments when necessary
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and organizational standards
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 2 years of experience in a call center, customer service, or social services environment
- Strong verbal communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/case management systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
