Description
- Lead end‑to‑end, multi‑state payroll processing across multiple entities.
- Maintain payroll data integrity (new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, benefits, timecards).
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax laws (including CA and NY).
- Act as escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries.
- Partner with HR and Finance on reconciliations, reporting, and audits.
- Support system optimization and process improvements (ADP Workforce Now; Workday a plus).
- Assist with year‑end activities including W‑2s and tax filings.
- Mentor and support payroll specialists, providing coverage and guidance as needed.
- Help shape payroll policies, procedures, and best practices during continued integration.
Profile
A successful Payroll Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi‑state payroll.
- Hands‑on payroll processing experience required (not oversight‑only).
- ADP Workforce Now experience required; Workday a plus.
- Strong payroll compliance and tax knowledge.
- Financial services or professional services experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication skills; able to interact with employees at all levels.
- Professional, collaborative style with strong attention to detail.
