Panel Builder (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: West Chicagoland Area
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
Start Date: Early February
About the Company
We're seeking a Panel Builder to join a well-regarded, family-operated industrial equipment manufacturer. They specialize in the customization and rebuilding of packaging machinery and are experiencing continued growth.
They are expanding their shop team to support rental packaging machines with the addition of a Panel Builder.

Your Responsibilities
- Construct and wire electrical control panels for packaging machinery.
- Install electrical components, including power supplies, relays, terminal blocks, and drives.
- Cut, strip, label, and route wiring according to electrical schematics and marked prints.
- Conduct basic continuity tests and provide support during panel checkout procedures.
- Modify or rework existing panels to meet changing needs.
- Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by keeping the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in panel wiring, electrical assembly, or industrial electrical work.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience in wiring and basic troubleshooting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with electrical components, wiring practices, and circuitry.
- Knowledge of NEC, UL, or other relevant electrical and safety standards.
- Previous experience with packaging machinery or OEM equipment builds.
- Experience in panel retrofitting or upgrades.
