Staff Accountant – Healthcare | Primarily Remote

LHH is partnering with a growing, multi‑location healthcare organization to recruit a newly created Staff Accountant. This role offers broad exposure across the business and the chance to make a meaningful impact as the company continues to scale.

The position is primarily remote with the option to be in the office one to two days per week, based on candidate preference. It’s a great opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team and gain experience across multiple areas of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the month-end close process through preparation of journal entries, maintenance of the general ledger, and coordination with the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses
• Performing account reconciliations and reviewing balance sheet activity to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Managing the accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, and timely disbursement, while maintaining positive vendor relationships
• Monitoring daily cash activity, revenue cycle performance, and census data to identify variances or process improvements
• Developing and refining financial forecasting models to support planning and decision-making
• Ensuring all accounting practices comply with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Enhancing internal controls by evaluating existing processes and implementing improvements to strengthen financial stewardship

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least one year of accounting or external audit experience.
• Prior healthcare industry experience is highly preferred.
