Market Area Procurement Lead – North America
Location: North America (Hybrid / Regional Scope; Manufacturing Presence in Gardner, KS)
We are seeking a Market Area Procurement Lead to drive sourcing strategy and execution across North America. This role has responsibility for indirect procurement activities supporting front‑line business units and a manufacturing operation in Gardner, Kansas, partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders to deliver sustainable cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and strong compliance.

Purpose of the Role
The Market Area Procurement Lead will lead the development and execution of sourcing activities across the North America region, including front‑line units and manufacturing operations, covering all indirect spend categories. The role works closely with global category and country procurement teams to drive savings initiatives, supplier consolidation, and compliance improvements aligned with both regional and local business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Sourcing
- Develop and foster a culture of collaboration, business partnering, and continuous improvement with a strong customer and value‑creation mindset
- Lead cost‑saving initiatives through RFQs, process optimization, supplier renegotiation, and total cost of ownership (TCO) initiatives
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms
- Support structured insourcing vs. outsourcing analyses and implementation in partnership with functional leaders
Supplier Management & Risk Mitigation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers, driving collaboration, consolidation, and tail‑spend reduction
- Lead supplier development initiatives, including risk mitigation strategies and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure supplier performance aligns with cost, quality, and delivery expectations
Stakeholder Partnership & Influence
- Act as a trusted procurement partner to Finance, Operations, Legal, Sales & Service, and other key stakeholders
- Facilitate alignment between business functions and central category management teams to ensure execution of global procurement strategies
- Communicate sourcing strategies, plans, and results clearly to drive alignment and buy‑in
- Proactively address stakeholder needs while balancing compliance with business flexibility
Process Improvement & Digital Enablement
- Identify inefficiencies in local procurement processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote best‑practice sharing across countries and regions
- Drive improvements across the source‑to‑pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, invoicing, and payment
- Support the development and adoption of digital procurement tools and technologies to increase efficiency and transparency
Performance Management & Reporting
- Develop and manage procurement metrics and KPIs, including dashboards at country, regional, and global levels
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on procurement performance, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure transparency through consistent use of digital procurement systems
What You Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- 5 years of experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing
- Proven success managing complex sourcing projects and process improvement initiatives
- Experience working with international supply bases and cross‑functional teams
- Background in large, multinational organizations with matrix structures
- Experience with budget planning, business case development, and implementation
- Experience working with global teams and executing transformational or change initiatives
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship‑building skills
- Solid commercial and financial acumen, including practical application of TCO
- Legal awareness and contract negotiation experience preferred
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
