Position Summary
The Controller oversees all accounting operations and financial reporting for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls while supporting leadership with budgeting, audits, and strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with nonprofit GAAP
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Manage annual audit and ensure regulatory, nonprofit, and grant compliance
- Maintain internal controls and improve financial processes
- Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit/fund accounting and financial reporting
- Audit and grant compliance experience
- CPA preferred
