LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established Detroit-based law firm to identify an experienced Legal Biller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative firm with approximately 15 attorneys and take full ownership of the billing function from start to finish.
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and has a strong understanding of legal billing processes, client billing requirements, and attorney timekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete legal billing cycle from beginning to end
- Review attorney time entries and expenses for accuracy and compliance with client guidelines
- Prepare, process, and distribute monthly client invoices
- Generate prebills and collaborate with attorneys on billing revisions
- Submit electronic invoices through client billing portals as required
- Monitor billing deadlines and resolve billing discrepancies
- Respond to attorney and client inquiries regarding billing matters
- Maintain accurate billing records and reporting
- Support collections efforts as needed and assist with account reconciliation
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of legal billing experience required
- Strong knowledge of legal billing procedures and attorney billing practices
- Experience owning the billing process independently
- Proficiency with legal billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Fully on-site in Detroit, MI
- Paid and covered parking provided
Compensation & Screening
- Salary range: $60,000 – $65,000
