HR Generalist 2 | Payroll Specialist
We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist / Payroll Specialist to join a growing team in Gainesville, TX. This onsite role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, independent environment and has a strong background in payroll processing and HR support. This is a 3-month contract with high potential for extension or conversion to full-time based on performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 1,000 employees accurately and on time
- Review, audit, and analyze payroll to ensure compliance with laws and company policies
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Shared Services Payroll team and resolve employee payroll inquiries
- Review, approve, or deny time-off requests according to CBA and company policies
- Prepare and submit payroll reports for Accounting, compliance, and audits
- Track and process deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related items
- Maintain payroll records and documentation according to retention requirements
- Support HR policies, procedures, and generalist functions, including HRIS activities
- Build strong employee relationships through daily onsite presence and serve as a point of contact for HR questions
- Identify and escalate employee relations issues and recommend process improvements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (or equivalent experience: 6 years with a BA, 3 years with an Associate’s)
- 2 years of HR experience, including payroll coordination
- 2 years experience with HRIS, reporting, or time & attendance systems
- Advanced Excel and math skills for payroll calculations and reporting
- Strong knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems (ADP experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and resolve issues effectively

💵 Pay: $30 – $32/hour.
