LHH is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located near Carmel, Indiana. This is an opportunity to join an organization with a long, rich history and a family-focused, team-centered work environment. This is a true Generalist position where you will be responsible for employee relations and engagement, HR compliance, talent acquisition and onboarding, training, LOA, etc. The compensation is commensurate to experience and ranges between $85,000-95,000 per year and includes several medical insurance options, Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary HR contact for all employee relations matters, providing guidance, coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and support a workplace culture aligned with the company’s values.
- Oversee full‑cycle recruiting for hourly, skilled trades, and salaried roles, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and coordination with hiring leaders.
- Develop and facilitate structured onboarding programs to ensure effective new‑hire integration and retention.
- Administer and support HR processes including employment documentation, FMLA/LOA administration, worker’s compensation coordination, compliance reporting, and policy adherence.
- Drive training and development initiatives, including building and implementing the company’s structured training program and supporting leadership development and succession planning.
- Partner with operations and leadership to understand business needs and provide strategic, value‑added HR support across the organization.
- Maintain HR documentation, employee records, handbook updates, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
- Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, attendance, and recruiting performance, and recommend process improvements based on data and insights.
- Proactively identify workforce issues, cultural challenges, and development gaps, and develop corrective action plans in partnership with leadership.
- Support performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching strategies, and development planning to strengthen workforce capability.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Team as needed and act as a backup for payroll processing.
- Maintain a strong onsite presence across the production floor and office to build relationships, address concerns, and support an engaged workforce.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Ethics, or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience within a manufacturing facility is required
- Candidates must have strong technical skills and proven experience using HRIS software
- Must have experience directly and independently managing work-related employee issues and performance management issues
- Must possess the ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and integrity while executing responsibilities
- Must have a core knowledge of and ability to collaborate with all areas within HR
- Must have demonstrated ability to influence and align organizational strategies to maximize talent capability and behaviors
- Must have experience in partnering with colleagues at all levels of an organization to drive priorities
