Job Description:

Title: Accountant

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Setting: Hybrid (Onsite 4x/week)

Compensation: $60k - $69k Profit Sharing

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time for multiple entities.
• Review and validate timekeeping data, earnings, commissions, incentives, reimbursements, and payroll deductions.
• Partner with HR to ensure employee records, benefits, and payroll changes are administered correctly.
• Maintain payroll documentation and records for reporting and audit purposes.

Accounting & Reporting

• Record payroll expenses, liabilities, and related journal entries.
• Prepare payroll-related financial reports and support intercompany allocations.
• Track and reconcile benefit-related payments, retirement plan contributions, and other payroll liabilities.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to payroll accounting.

Reconciliations

• Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile employee benefits, retirement plans, and other payroll-related balances.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll-related financial data across multiple entities.

Compliance & Audit

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Support external audits and payroll-related reporting requirements.
• Assist with workers’ compensation audits and payroll reporting requests.
• Help maintain effective internal controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3 years of accounting and/or payroll accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and account reconciliations.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
• Experience with accounting or payroll software preferred.
