Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support employment law matters in federal and state courts. This role involves comprehensive litigation support from case inception through trial or arbitration, with a strong emphasis on discovery, trial preparation, and case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage e-discovery, document review, redaction, indexing, and production
- Prepare fact chronologies, production charts, and case summaries under attorney supervision
- Assist with pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings
- Coordinate and prepare deposition and record subpoenas in compliance with state and federal rules
- Organize and manage pleadings, exhibits, and trial materials
- Support trial and arbitration preparation, including exhibit management
- Conduct limited legal research (including Lexis and PACER), cite-checking, and Shepardizing
- Analyze documents for relevance and privilege
- Liaise with courts, opposing counsel, and litigation vendors
- Track deadlines and maintain accurate billable time entries
- Respond to client inquiries regarding case status and procedural steps
- Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (employment law preferred)
- Experience supporting cases from inception through trial
- Strong knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and California Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience with discovery, trial preparation, and document-intensive litigation
- Experience with class actions and wage-and-hour matters a plus
- Familiarity with EEOC/CRD procedures a plus
- Experience with timekeeping and document management systems (Intapp and NetDocuments a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
