Accounts Receivable Specialist - Construction Industry REQUIRED

Overview:
A well-established construction company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Administrator to support project-based billing, collections, and cash application functions. This role will partner closely with Project Managers and internal teams to ensure accurate billing, compliance, and strong cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounts receivable, including billing, cash application, and collections
- Handle project-based accounting and billing for multiple active jobs
- Partner with Project Managers to set up and maintain projects in the system
- Prepare and review construction and service invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Generate and track lien waivers; ensure subcontractor and supplier compliance
- Apply knowledge of California Mechanic's Lien laws to billing processes
- Monitor job costing, billing milestones, and over/under billing
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and perform timely collection calls
- Maintain organized and audit-ready project accounting files
- Collaborate with operations to support project closeouts
- Assist leadership with reporting and special projects as needed
- 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus in Accounts Receivable
- Construction industry experience is required (mid-to-large size companies preferred)
- Solid understanding of construction billing, collections, and lien processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced workload
- Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and external clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
