Staff Accountant / AP / AR

A growing software as a service company in Boston is looking for a Staff Accountant to support the finance operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to work in a dynamic SaaS environment and gain hands-on exposure across multiple areas of accounting.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager and the VP of Finance as part of a small, high-performing team that values collaboration, ownership, and efficiency.

Schedule: Hybrid role with a preference of 2-3 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage core accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process vendor invoices and payments through the company’s AP system and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately
• Handle deposits, cash activity, and daily bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities, including account analysis and variance explanations
• Partner with team members to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Support internal and external reporting requests as well as audit and compliance initiatives
• Contribute to special projects within the accounting and finance function as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 1–2 years of accounting experience (internship experience acceptable)
• Solid understanding of GAAP, debits/credits, and general ledger accounting
• Prior experience in a SaaS, software, or high-growth tech company strongly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with NetSuite is required.
