An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insurance Coverage & Litigation Associate to join a growing and dynamic legal practice based in New York City. This role is suited to a motivated attorney with a strong background in insurance coverage matters and litigation, offering the flexibility to work either remotely or in-office. The position provides exposure to complex, high-quality work across multiple jurisdictions within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft insurance coverage opinions and provide detailed legal analysis
- Review and assess claim documentation and policy language
- Handle declaratory judgment and bad faith litigation matters
- Manage cases from inception through to trial, including pleadings, discovery, and depositions
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of briefs
- Advise clients on a broad range of insurance coverage matters
- Support policy development and updates
- Work across state and federal court proceedings
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) with strong academic credentials
- Minimum of four years’ experience in insurance coverage and litigation
- Proven experience handling declaratory judgment and bad faith actions
- Expertise in coverage assessments across areas such as professional liability, D&O, E&O, fiduciary, commercial general liability, and property policies
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters from start to finish
- Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
- Experience in both state and federal courts
- Admission to the New York Bar in good standing
