What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction & General Liability Litigation Attorney position at Interlink Talent Solutions?
Our client, a leading AmLaw firm with offices across the US, are looking to grow their litigation team in New York City with a number of strategic hires. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with substantial defense litigation experience who is eager to build a long term career with a collaborative and high performing team.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle all phases of complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on NYS Labor Law construction matters, general liability and auto/transportation liability.
- Regularly conduct & defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice. Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects, contributing to a collaborative, results-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Civil or commercial litigation experience, ideally with any of NYS Labor Law construction matters, general liability and auto/transportation liability.
- Understanding of NY Labor Law §§200, 240, 241 and experience with OSHA proceedings are a plus.
- Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
- Must be admitted in New York.
- Proficiency in managing complex litigation from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing.
