Infinitek is partnering with a leading chemical manufacturing business that’s looking for a Safety Manager to take ownership of site safety, compliance, and risk management. As Safety Manager, you’ll be more than a compliance enforcer-you’ll be a strategic leader, coach, and change agent. You’ll develop innovative programs, shape policy, oversee emergency preparedness, and be the trusted point of contact for employees, leadership, and regulators alike.
What You’ll Do as Safety Manager
- Champion a Safety-First culture-empowering every employee with stop-work authority and hazard recognition.
- Lead the development and execution of the site’s strategic safety plan, aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary liaison with OSHA, DOT, DHS, EPA, and local emergency services.
- Oversee Behavior-Based Safety programs, Job Hazard Analysis, and Safe Work Permitting to embed safety into daily operations.
- Track and analyze safety performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead incident investigations and RCAs, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
- Manage emergency response systems, fire protection readiness, training, and drills.
- Partner with training teams to ensure safety programs are current, engaging, and effective.
- Ensure contractor safety programs are robust and aligned with site expectations.
- Serve as a key leader during crisis events and an integral member of the emergency response team.
What We’re Looking For
- 8–10 years of progressive safety and/or process safety experience in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial settings.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM, OSHA General Industry standards, DOT, and DHS regulations.
- Proven success in driving safety culture change and implementing strategic safety initiatives.
- Experience with Behavior-Based Safety programs.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field - desirable
Preferred:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent credential.
- Experience with fire protection systems, emergency response, and medical monitoring.
- Formal training in PHA/LOPA methodologies and PHA software.
- Strong background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident investigation.
