The Opportunity
As the Engineering Manager, you will lead the plant’s engineering team to deliver capital projects, process improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation. You’ll oversee 4–6 direct reports (engineers, project managers, and document control staff) and play a key role in plant optimization and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction for all engineering functions: production, process, and project engineering.
- Lead and mentor the engineering team, managing performance and developing technical capabilities.
- Develop and manage project schedules and capital budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations (air, water, solid waste, and PSM).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and EH&S to identify and implement improvements.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers while maintaining strong relationships across all stakeholders.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reliability activities.
- Actively contribute to corporate initiatives and partner with peers at other facilities.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred); advanced degree a plus.
- At least 10 years of engineering or operational leadership experience, ideally in a PSM-regulated, nitrogen-based production environment.
- Proven success delivering capital projects, driving plant improvements, and ensuring compliance.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, equipment, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements.
- A collaborative, hands-on leader with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage teams, with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to excellence.
