Impact Staffing International (ISI) is seeking a Payroll Manager to join our client, a leading global manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, at their Grapevine, TX location. This role is critical in maintaining payroll continuity during a leadership transition and offers strong potential to convert to a full-time position.
This is a 40 hours/week contract role with the potential to be brought on full-time. You’ll join the Total Rewards team (payroll, benefits, compensation, retirement, and HRIS) and manage one direct report while overseeing payroll operations.Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the bi-weekly multi-state payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Audit payroll processing completed by the Payroll Analyst and ensure all controls and compliance standards are met
• Manage payroll tax compliance across 90 jurisdictions, including setup, reconciliation, and issue resolution
• Oversee quarterly and annual tax reporting and ensure accurate distribution of employee tax forms (W-2, W-2c, 1095-C, etc.)
• Maintain and update HRIS/payroll system configurations (e.g., tax rates, PTO policies, deductions)
• Respond to regulatory inquiries (tax agencies, garnishments, etc.) and support internal/external audits
• Partner with Accounting and Treasury to ensure payroll aligns with financial reporting and banking processes
• Lead payroll-related projects, process improvements, and internal control enhancements
• Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to the Payroll Analyst
• Deliver high-quality customer service by resolving employee payroll inquiries professionally and efficientlyRequired Skills and Background:
• 3–5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll environments
• Experience managing at least one direct report or leading payroll functions
• Hands-on experience with SaaS payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred; ADP, UKG, or Workday acceptable)
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll and taxation (high-volume, multi-jurisdiction experience required)
• Experience supporting high-volume payrolls
• Ability to manage and configure payroll systems (tax updates, policy changes, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, audits, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion
• High level of reliability, accountability, and independent judgmentContract Details:
