Construction / Project Accountant (AIA Billing Focus)
Long Island, NY (Fully Onsite)
About the Role
A well-established, industry-leading company in the commercial equipment and construction space is looking to add a Construction / Project Accountant to its growing team.
This role is heavily focused on project billing, AIA requisitions, and collections, supporting a high volume of active projects. It’s ideal for someone coming from a construction AR or project accounting background who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage AIA billing (G702/G703) across multiple active projects
- Prepare, submit, and track monthly requisition packages
- Coordinate lien waivers, stored materials, and certified payroll documentation
- Work with systems such as Textura, GC Pay, Procure (or similar)
- Reconcile project billings against contracts and internal ERP systems
- Own the collections process, including payment follow-ups and retainage
- Partner with project managers, general contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate documentation across contracts, change orders, and billing cycles
What They’re Looking For
- 5 years of Accounts Receivable / Project Accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with AIA billing (G702/G703)
- Background in construction, ideally with a subcontractor
- Strong understanding of project-based billing and documentation
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Familiarity with Textura, Procore/Procure, or similar tools
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working onsite, 5 days a week in Long Island
