The Opportunity
A growing project-driven organization within the engineering, logistics, and infrastructure sector is seeking a Project Accountant to join its finance team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing project financials, revenue tracking, invoicing, and forecasting across multiple active projects.
Working closely with Project Managers, operational leadership, and an international finance team, the successful candidate will help ensure financial accuracy throughout the project lifecycle while supporting budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial aspects of assigned projects, including labor, material, and subcontractor cost tracking
- Partner with Project Managers and finance leadership to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Monitor project performance and support revenue recognition in line with contract terms and percentage-of-completion methodologies
- Prepare and submit project billings, including AIA invoicing where applicable
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with internal teams and clients
- Maintain project compliance documentation, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, W-9s, and related records
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and project completion journal entries
- Prepare project profitability analysis, cash flow reporting, and ad hoc financial reports for management
- Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable and operational teams to ensure accurate project cost recognition
- Verify financial transaction accuracy and maintain strong project documentation controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience within construction, logistics, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based environments
- Previous experience in project accounting or cost accounting roles
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, project forecasting, and revenue recognition
- Experience with AIA billing and project-based invoicing preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP or accounting software experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness
