About the Role
We are hiring for one of our clients for the position of Mobile Mechanic. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy mobile equipment to support asphalt operations. The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance and emergency field repairs to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy mobile equipment, including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and service vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and system inspections.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns at job sites and perform timely field repairs.
- Operate and maintain a fully equipped service truck with the necessary tools, parts, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy machinery.
- Relevant certifications, such as ASE or diesel mechanic certifications, are preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
- Ability to travel daily to customer or project sites.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
