Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations within a multi-specialty healthcare environment. This role assists with clinical procedures, patient intake, scheduling, medical records management, and administrative support to ensure an efficient patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient examinations, treatments, and routine clinical care.
- Obtain and prepare patient records prior to appointments.
- Perform patient intake procedures, including vital signs, medical history collection, and related documentation.
- Conduct point-of-care testing (POCT) procedures as trained and authorized.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, equipment, and clinical work areas.
- Follow infection control, OSHA, and clinic safety protocols.
- Order and maintain clinical supplies as needed.
- Document incidents according to organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, and appropriately documented prior to patient visits.
- Deliver patient care in a manner appropriate to individual patient needs.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Assist with patient transportation within healthcare facilities when required.
- Perform administrative tasks including scheduling, insurance verification, filing, faxing, copying, and telephone support.
- Travel between assigned clinical locations as needed to support patient care operations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one year of medical office experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Basic computer and administrative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a clinical healthcare environment.
