Assistant Plant Controller – Manufacturing
Location: Keene, NH (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Controller to join a leading manufacturing organization in Keene, New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have strong cost accounting experience, proven ERP proficiency, and a track record of supporting financial operations in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, GAAP principles, and corporate accounting policies.
- Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accuracy of the general ledger and timely reporting.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and five-year planning processes.
- Lead annual standard cost setting and maintain product costing accuracy.
- Analyze job variances, report findings to plant management, and monitor inventory costing data.
- Partner with department managers to control spending and explain expense variances.
- Provide financial analysis for capital projects, cost reduction initiatives, and other strategic objectives.
- Prepare account reconciliations and support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting, presentations, and communications to divisional and corporate finance teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required).
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years as an Assistant Plant Controller or similar role.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, SAP, or Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with forecasting and budgeting tools (Khalix/Longview a plus).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship required (due to ITAR compliance).
Preferred:
- CPA or MBA.
- Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, and capital project evaluation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
