Florida A&M University's University Libraries is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Senior Clerk vacancy.
Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison between the library and human resources; Review and audit timesheets for accuracy in comparison to iRattler and the Cost Center Report on a bi-weekly basis; Serve in the role of timekeeper, and other related functions for the Library; Send emails to library employees to keep everyone informed of proper protocols, as determined by Human Resources; and prepare and support paperwork and processes for hiring work study students.
Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate departments and/or individuals; Answer phones and respond to inquiries via telephone or email; and provide information, assistance and internal customer service.
Support the work of the Dean and Associate Dean, as needed to ensure library goals and objectives are achieved; Submit work orders to Service Response, and follow-up to ensure completion of requests; Perform administrative and clerical tasks, including filing, photocopying, and minor printer maintenance; and write emails, memos, and letters, as needed.
Implement and/or develop office procedures and record systems; Maintain and organize confidential files and records, including personnel files; Maintain supplies and submit orders for new supplies to the fiscal office; Organize and distribute messages; Produce paperwork to support all travel processes; Prepare and mail outgoing correspondence; and perform routine office tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of related experience; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years of related experience.
Recommended Competencies
Knowledge of academic resources available to students;
Ability to perform mathematical calculations;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and,
Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
Pay Plan
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.
Only United States (U.S.) citizens or aliens who have a legal right to work in the U.S. are eligible for employment. Federal law requires proof of your authorization to work in the United States. You will be required to provide proof of your identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of employment.
