Florida A&M University's Office of Parking and Transportation is pleased to accounce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Motor Vehicle Operator vacancy.
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently transport passengers between designated locations according to a set schedule or route; Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations and ensure the safety of all passengers during the trip; Assist passengers with boarding, deplaning, and their luggage; and be polite, courteous, and provide assistance or information as needed.
Maintain the cleanliness of the shuttle bus's interior and exterior; Perform basic vehicle checks, refuel, and report any necessary repairs; Communicate with dispatchers to receive instructions, report delays, and manage passenger pick-ups and drop-offs; Read and follow maps, verbal directions, and established routes to ensure timely service; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalency and possession of a classified driver's license (CDL with passanger endorsement) appropriate to the type of vehicle operated and one year of related experiences. Also drive must possess CDL medical card.
Recommended Competencies
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
Knowledge of and ability to safely operate a variety of production equipment;
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously;
Ability to utilize problem solving skills;
Knowledge of and ability to apply set research and laboratory procedures and safety practices;
Ability to utilize technical skills;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and,
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.
