Responsibilities
Oversee the deployment of high-quality services that improve and increase student access to job and internship related coaching (resume assistance, networking and interviewing, etc.); Independently and collaboratively oversee and/or directly develop student programs, seminars, and/or career conversations around relevant career topics; Lead career coaching initiatives, including program schedules, walk-in coaching services, campus partner relationships, and other tasks based on functional area of responsibility; Increase the visibility and support of the coaching services, enhance existing services, conduct research or benchmarking with institutions to identify best practices, and develop and present career-related topics to various audiences; Create innovative new programs and approaches and revise traditional ones to meet the current career needs of students and alumni; Provide students with clear and sufficient opportunities for self-assessment as it relates to college majors and ultimately career choices; and lead and manage the Career Fundamentals initiative, which encompasses a career readiness certificate in compliance with state law, which requires effective communication with First Time In College students and the Academic Advising team.
Implement a comprehensive experiential learning plan to support student, industry, and campus engagement in immersive experiential learning opportunities; Stays abreast of trends, resources, and compliance issues and to provide leadership and guidance to direct reports to support experiential learning; Monitors the Board of Governors’ experiential learning policy and collaborates with functional areas of the CPDC and university to provide coordinated services; Oversees the operations of experiential learning efforts to ensure best practices are deployed and will work to incorporate experiential learning into the student experience; Partners with academic departments to capture information related to existing experiential learning (internships, mentorship, research, and other offerings); Develops and maintains relationships and resources with employers, alumni, and industry partners who provide experiential learning and post-graduation opportunities for students; and coaches, trains, and provides consultations and educational resources for students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers and to advance experiential learning engagement and career development outcomes.
Supervise or co-supervise Career Pathway Coaches and graduate coaching assistants to include establishing job standards; Develop direct reports to maximize their strengths and abilities to positively impact students’ career exploration and success; Oversee the Career Peer program to include hiring, training, managing their work schedule and providing ongoing professional development; Meet regularly with direct reports to review and discuss individual and professional development goals and performance; Solicit feedback from staff members, stakeholders and students regarding student needs and goals for collaboration and programming; Direct and lead assessment efforts for student learning outcomes related to coaching and experiential learning, and that staff performance is also being evaluated and measured in or to increase quality service to students; Work with the Office of Institutional Research to manage a dashboard related to experiential learning engagement; Plan and implement strategies to track students’ participation in internships, research, and other experiential learning opportunities from talent acquisition professionals; Provide accurate reports and data related to career coaching and experiential learning and stakeholder engagement; Develop collateral and web content to highlight experiential education data for internal and external stakeholders; Coordinate with Director on monthly KPI and annual reporting; and, special projects assigned and based on departmental, Enrollment Management, and university-led initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience. Certain positions within this classification may require additional certifications as outlined in the position description.

Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating strategic career development initiatives and coaching programs;
Experience designing, implementing, or overseeing experiential learning programs, including internships, co-ops, service learning, or project-based learning;
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in experiential education, including reflection, assessment, and high-impact practices;
Demonstrated success building and maintaining partnerships with faculty, employers, and community organizations to expand student experiential opportunities and enhance student engagement and outcomes;
Familiarity with internship program compliance, including risk management, academic credit, and legal considerations;
Experience supporting underrepresented or first-generation students in gaining access to high-quality experiential learning opportunities;
Ability to develop systems and tools to track, assess, and report on student engagement in experiential learning;
Strong assessment and data analysis skills; ability to use data to inform strategy, demonstrate impact, and support continuous improvement;
Familiarity with career readiness frameworks (e.g., NACE Career Competencies) and their application in higher education settings;
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the department across campus and to senior leadership;
Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment; and,
