Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the needs of all students.
- Teach a variety of music classes, including but not limited to choir, band, orchestra, and music theory.
- Plan and conduct rehearsals, performances, and assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Organize and oversee school music events, concerts, and competitions.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music education across the curriculum.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students to enhance their musical abilities.
- Maintain classroom instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Stay current with music education trends, techniques, and technology to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and program developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in music education or the ability to obtain one through an alternative authorization.
- Proven experience in teaching music at the high school level.
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments and/or vocal performance.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
- Passion for music and a desire to inspire students to develop their musical talents.
Salary : $50,252 - $72,827
