Position Overview
An AmLaw100 firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Miami. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated business disputes within a collaborative and fast-paced litigation environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience in both state and federal courts, exceptional writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage complex commercial litigation matters from discovery through trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Handle complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
- Manage written discovery, document discovery, and document production processes.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other court filings.
- Take and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation.
- Attend status conferences, hearings, and argue motions in court.
- Assist with trial preparation, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management.
- Support sophisticated business litigation matters within a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active Florida Bar admission required.
- 4–5 years of commercial or business litigation experience within a law firm environment.
- Strong experience handling complex litigation matters in state and federal courts.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances required.
- Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English, including legal writing and verbal communication, strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $290,000 – $310,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
