Job Summary
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a junior-level Tax Associate to join its International Tax practice in Miami.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated cross-border tax and estate planning matters for high-net-worth individuals and international private clients within a collaborative and fast-paced practice environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with international tax planning and private client matters, strong analytical and drafting skills, and the ability to manage complex matters involving U.S. and international tax considerations.
Responsibilities
- Advise individuals and private clients on U.S. cross-border income tax and estate planning matters.
- Assist with expatriation planning, pre-immigration tax planning, inbound and outbound tax planning, and related international tax matters.
- Conduct legal research and analysis involving domestic and international tax issues.
- Draft memoranda, correspondence, and planning documents related to private client and international tax matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on sophisticated tax and estate planning strategies.
- Maintain direct client interaction and assist with ongoing client relationship development.
- Manage multiple complex matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Support strategic planning for international individuals, families, and closely held entities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of international tax or private client experience required.
- Active Florida Bar admission required or eligibility for admission to the Florida Bar.
- J.D. from an accredited law school required.
- LL.M. in Taxation required.
- Experience advising clients on cross-border income tax and estate planning matters required.
- Experience with expatriation, pre-immigration, inbound, and outbound tax planning preferred.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities required.
- Ability to manage significant responsibility and work effectively in a fast-paced environment required.
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
- Prior law firm experience preferred.
- Strong academic credentials required.
